When it comes to adding value to your home, will decorative lighting have an impact? Probably not. Especially since you’ll likely take it with you when you go. But there’s definitely something to be said for having a statement light fixture that grabs people’s attention when they walk in a room. In my new house almost every room has a statement fixture (or two!), and while I was a little hesitant about some of them at first, I’ve really come to appreciate the impact they have.

If there’s one piece of advice I can offer when it comes to choosing hanging fixtures and pendants it’s to be sure that the size is appropriate for the room. Even the most incredible fixture will get lost if it’s too small, so in that case go for something bigger or consider hanging a few in a cluster like I did in my living room. Statement Light Fixtures Under $500

Making a statement doesn’t have to cost a fortune. There are plenty of unique and impactful lights that can fit just about any style and budget. But as I mentioned above, make sure they’re big enough to fit the space. You’ll see that some of the fixtures in this price point are a bit on the small side – great for smaller rooms and nooks.

Statement Light Fixtures Under $1000

If your budget allows it, spending $500-$1000 on a light fixture isn’t the worst idea. While I would never recommend spending more than you can comfortably afford, having a large, quality fixture can really pull a room together.

Statement Light Fixtures Over $1000

You certainly don’t need to spend over $1000 on a single light fixture, but if you want to and can afford it there are some really amazing and impactful pieces out on the market.  And even if spending over $1000 on a light seems pretty crazy, it’s still fun to look!
