Rockwool

Homeowners, contractors, and builders rely on ROCKWOOL® for dependable insulation solutions that provide distinct advantages for the home and homeowner. ROCKWOOL® stone wool insulation is fire resistant, sound absorbent, water repellant and resistant to mould, mildew, bacterial growth and rot. ROCKWOOL® products provide long-term thermal performance and stable R-values that will stand up to even the toughest climate conditions. ROCKWOOL® insulation helps achieve greater energy efficiency, saving on heating and cooling costs and contributing to a better environment, both indoors and out.

Resistant to fire: ROCKWOOL® insulation withstands temperatures up to 1,177˚C, providing additional vital minutes to escape in the event of a house fire. It won’t release toxic gases or smoke.

Resistant to moisture: After exposure to water and moisture, ROCKWOOL® insulation won’t slump in the wall like many conventional batt insulations. It remains dimensionally stable to ensure reliable thermal performance.

Supports air quality: Comprised of basalt rock and recycled slag––a by-product of steel production––ROCKWOOL® products are made from inert materials that will not support mould or fungal growth, resulting in a safer indoor environment.

Sound absorbent: The higher density, non-directional fibres of ROCKWOOL stone wool help absorb sound waves and reduce the intensity and propagation of noise.

Easy to Install: Easy to cut precisely with a serrated blade, such as a bread knife. The flexible edge of ROCKWOOL® COMFORTBATT® and SAFE ‘n’ SOUND® insulation creates a spring back action on install, expanding the batt against the studs, joists or rafters to give a complete fill. It also compensates for normal variations in stud centres caused by distortion or warping. This reduces air flow and maximizes thermal performance.

Responsible building: All ROCKWOOL® products and manufacturing processes are environmentally conscious. ROCKWOOL® stone wool insulation products contain a high recycled content and are CFC- and HCFC-free. They are also among the few building products can recover the energy used in their manufacturing process. Installing ROCKWOOL® insulation can reduce energy consumption and dependence on fossil fuels, thereby decreasing harmful CO2 emissions. When ROXUL® is the specified insulation, green building developers can earn a variety of LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points across four key categories toward sustainable development. As a top green building product, ROCKWOOL® has received GREENGUARD’s most stringent certification for indoor air quality.
