Buyers Bootcamp is here, and I haven’t been this excited about a project in a long time. I’ve been working on it for over a year and I’m pumped to (finally!) hear what you have to say about it.

I’ve been a real estate investor for almost 20 years. It’s what I do. It’s my passion. And now I’m finally showing you what it’s really like.  You can watch as I take big financial risks and put my money where my mouth is (or in this case, I put MY money where YOUR house is). I’m pulling back the curtain on my real estate career and showing you what it’s actually like to be an investor.

What is Buyers Bootcamp?

Here’s the deal:  Two rookie investors pitch me their investment property and I pick the one that I think has the best chance of making a profit.  I offer up MY OWN CASH and then we work together to get the renovation done and try to turn a profit. Think of it as Dragon’s Den/Shark Tank meets HGTV. But in this case we see the story through to the end so you can see if it was a successful investment or not.

Income Property vs Buyers Bootcamp

During 11 seasons of Income Property I worked with newbie investors to teach them some tricks of the trade. With my help and advice they renovated properties in order to create income suites and begin their careers as real estate investors. Here’s the difference – with Income Property I took people on as clients – in Buyers Bootcamp I’m coming on board as a partner. I’m investing my own money into these opportunities and the stakes are extremely high. It’s incredibly exciting, there’s a lot more risk, and there are no guarantees that the partnership will end in success.

This. Is. Real.

Never in the history of HGTV have the stakes been so high for the host and the homeowners. I’m making a big financial investment and I have no idea what’s going to happen. There is no script, there are no guarantees, and there is no Plan B. I’m not embarrassed to say that it’s been a little scary, and while I always remain cautiously optimistic, I’ve had more than a few sleepless nights.

I’m really looking forward to this and I can’t wait to hear what you guys think of the show.
