Get the Look: Waterfront Escape
Vacation properties are all about resting, relaxing, and getting back in tune with the outdoors, and this waterfront cottage overlooking one of the great lakes is no different. The big windows provide a ton of natural light and great views of the lake so the interior styling is all about enhancing it. Light colors combined with hits of blue and green compliment the surroundings and create a fresh, relaxed vibe.
If you want to get the look of this waterfront escape all you have to do is stick with a few simple guidelines. If you’re sticking with a light color palette in a vacation home I highly recommend slipcovered furniture. The last thing you want to worry about while you’re on vacation (or if you’re the landlord of a vacation rental) is dirty or stained furniture, so look for something that can be easily removed and tossed in the washing machine. I also think it’s a good idea to include some organic materials so that the room stays connected to the outdoors. In this case a wood-top coffee table was included in order to keep that natural element.
