Get the Look: Contemporary Living Room

One of the most popular rooms featured in over 10 seasons of Income Property was this contemporary living room featured in season 8. I chalk up its popularity to the fact that it’s comfortable, family-friendly, and is neither too modern or too traditional. Just about anyone could walk into this space and imagine themselves living in it.

Contemporary Living Room

If you want to create a contemporary living room like this one I recommend keeping the colors neutral and the lines fairly clean and modern. Add comfort with upholstered furnishings and through the use of soft accessories such as pillows and throws. And like with any room, try to add some sort of organic material in order to offset all the manmade materials in the room – in this case it was done with the leather-top stools and the rattan basket under the console table. It softens all the straight lines and hard edges, making the space more livable.
