Laundry Room Storage – Bringing Cabinetry out of the Kitchen

Laundry rooms have come a long way. They used to be relegated to corners of the basement, or other out-of-the way places, but now they’re becoming design rockstars in their own right – with the same style and functionality requirements as other rooms in the house. But perhaps nothing is as important in a laundry room as storage. You need a place to store soaps and detergents, laundry baskets, ironing accessories, and more. Since they often often double as pantries or even mudrooms, appropriate laundry room storage is a significant issue.

Due to their often small, and sometimes awkward spaces, maximizing storage in laundry rooms can be challenging. Prefab cabinets don’t always do the trick, and custom cabinets  can often cost more than people want to spend in the laundry room. So I often suggest using semi-custom cabinets. Companies like Wood Crest Cabinetry have the flexibility to design storage solutions for your specific needs – no matter what they are.

Take the laundry room at my vacation property for example. The sloped ceiling meant that standard cabinets wouldn’t fit. Fortunately, Wood Crest was able to make a height modification so we could achieve the look we wanted without compromising on design or functionality.

Check out this video to see what we did.

Regardless of obstacles or architectural features, Wood Crest can customize cabinets for your laundry room – or anywhere else in the house. Wood Crest Cabinetry and storage solutions can be purchased through Home Hardware stores across Canada. Please visit www.homehardware.ca/en/wood-crest-cabinetry for more information.
